I read from the news that the Forney Independent School District has lowered the tax rate of residents living in Forney ISD school boundaries. This is the fifth year in a row that this happened. The board approved the new rate during the meeting that occurred in September. It’s nice to know that since 2020, the Forney ISD tax rate has decreased to 18.5 cents. The board continues to show and prove that they are committed to responsibly managing the district's fund. The trustees agreed on the new tax rate, which includes the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) rate of 85.46 cents per $100 assessed.
